Expanding UBO Register Coverage: Germany & France Now Available

Posted 2025-02-12 | Updated 2025-02-13

What did we integrate?

We are pleased to announce the integration of Germany’s Transparenzregister (Transparency Register) and France’s INPI (Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle) UBO Registersinto our compliance coverage. These additions significantly enhance our ability to provide Ultimate Beneficial Ownership (UBO) data, but they also introduce new access requirements that differ from our other UBO connections.

Unlike other jurisdictions where ultimate beneficial owner data is accessible to all approved API users, Germany and France require additional credentialing steps before access is granted.

How are Germany and France Different?

While our existing UBO register integrations provide direct access upon API approval, Germany and France introduce credentialed access, meaning:

  • Germany (Transparenzregister): Users must first register directly with the Transparenzregister, obtain credentials (email and password), and provide them to us for API linkage.
  • France (INPI UBO Data): Users must be pre-approved by us before gaining access. Credentials are tied to specific accounts, ensuring a controlled data flow.
  • These requirements make Germany and France more restrictive compared to our open access UBO jurisdictions, where users can retrieve beneficial ownership data immediately after API integration.

Why did we integrate these registers?

The German Transparenzregister is a central source for identifying beneficial owners in Europe’s largest economy. Accessing this data ensures businesses comply with Germany’s stringent AML requirements. The government fee for structured data and documents in Germany is charged directly by Transparenzregister to the client and should be factored into compliance considerations.

Similarly, France’s INPI UBO Register is a key source for tracking beneficial owners in the French corporate ecosystem. With a strong focus on financial transparency, access to this registry provides essential compliance insights for companies operating within or interacting with French entities.

How to Access UBO Data for Germany & France

    Germany: Transparenzregister

    Prerequisites:

  • API key approved for UBOR DE.
  • Client credentials (email and password) registered with Transparenzregister.
  • Access Process:

  • 1. Clients register directly with the Transparenzregister and obtain credentials.
  • 2. They provide their approved email and password to us.
  • 3. We link these credentials to their API ID, ensuring compliance and secure access.
  • 4. Once linked, clients can retrieve UBO data using the enhanced endpoint.
  • Structured Data Location:

  • Available in the enhanced endpoint in the new contentRaw field, in its original form as received from the register.
  • Example API Request:

    curl 'https://api.kompany.com/api/v2/company/enhanced' \

    -X POST \

    -H "accept: application/json" \

    -H "content-type: application/json" \

    -H "user_key: your key value here" \

    --data-binary '{"kompanyId":"your kompanyId value here","enhancedOptions":{"beneficialOwners":true}}'

    France: INPI UBO Register

    Prerequisites:

  • API key approved for UBOR FR.
  • Pre-approval by our team before access is granted.
  • Access Process:

  • 1. Clients must be approved for UBO FR access approved for UBO FR access
  • 2. They authenticate using a designated account tied to INPI credentials.
  • 3. Data is retrieved via the enhanced endpoint using beneficialOwners=true..
  • 4. No internal mapping is applied – data is provided exactly as received from the register.
  • Structured Data Location:

  • Available in the enhanced endpoint in the new contentRaw field, in its original form as received from the register.
  • How Credentialed Access Differs from Open Jurisdictions

For other UBO jurisdictions in our network, users can access beneficial ownership data immediately after obtaining API approval. Germany and France, however, require an additional layer of authentication, ensuring data security and compliance with local regulations.

    Key Differences:

  • Open UBO Registers: Data is available upon API approval, with no additional login required.
  • Credentialed Access UBO Registers (Germany & France): Users must register separately or be pre-approved pre-approved.
  • What This Means for Our Clients

This integration ensures that clients can access authoritative UBO data from Germany and France , but with the necessary security and compliance measures in place. If you require access, please ensure you follow the credentialing process outlined above.
